POST-COVID WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT:

NAVIGATING NEW LABOUR LAWS AND WORKFORCE STRUCTURES

India’s complex labour law regime has only become harder to navigate as a result of Covid-19. Employers are grappling with multiple, often contradictory orders issued by the central and state governments, while remaining in compliance with existing laws. Some state governments are attempting to ease some of the more draconian labour regulations but many of these changes may eventually be overturned by the courts. All of this will challenge India’s labour-law system in ways previously inconceivable.
